How to Lower Blood Pressure Quickly Using Food

Home Remedies for Hypertension

I have tried many home remedies for my mother's high blood pressure. Through trial and error I have discovered the most effective remedies. Here's what we tried that did not work:

  • At first, we were told drinking moringa soup would reduce blood pressure significantly. We began giving moringa soup to our mother on alternate days. For almost a year we attempted to treat her blood pressure this way, with no results.
  • Next we tried pomegranate. We heard that according to one research study, drinking pomegranate juice daily for one year would help. We gave her pomegranate juice once a day for almost 15 months. She, however, did not see any benefits.

After that we tried three home remedies together, and they were highly effective. Here they are.

Raw Garlic

Eating raw garlic can bring down your blood pressure easily. This is a highly effective home remedy for hypertension. It tastes good with cooked rice. Eating it cooked or fried will not give you the same benefits of raw garlic. Blood pressure patients should eat it with every meal. It helped my mother get her blood pressure reduced significantly. Five or six cloves of garlic should be eaten with each meal. If you eat garlic with every meal for just one week your blood pressure would go down significantly.

Lemon Juice

Once we encountered a difficult phase when my mother had her blood pressure increased considerably. We decided to try lemon juice. We gave her some every two hours, or eight times a day. We squeezed it fresh and mixed it with water and sugar. If you drink lemon juice like this for three days you will see a significant decrease. This is a highly effective remedy for blood pressure. Blood pressure patients should make a habit of drinking lemon juice three or four times a day.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek can reduce high blood pressure, but it should not be taken daily as it would bring down blood sugar as well. It has a bitter taste and is difficult to eat. You can powder fenugreek and keep it for a long time. Before going to bed, put a spoonful of fenugreek powder in mouth and drink hot water simultaneously. Drink water until the bitterness is gone.

      Lemon juice benefits pleasantly surprised me. I am a HUGE garlic lover and although I cook with it constanly, I too use it in its raw form.

      Thanks I knew about the raw garlic and the lemon juice never added sugar in mine will tried it with a little sugar I do not want it to taste like lemonade but was not aware of the fenugreek.

      I remember when my uncle had dangerously high blood pressure, lemon juice was definitely on the list. Recently when I had high blood pressure I learned that most green fruits and vegetables will help with blood pressure. This actually worked for me and just to add to your list, green grapes, green bell peppers and anything that is green tends to have phytonutrients that lower blood pressure. But lemon juice and garlic are among the nutrients that can really help to lower blood pressure the most. Great article!

      These are good suggestions and for sure the garlic works and even though raw garlic is the most effective, garlic powder or tablets are also good. With respect to fenugreek, it's one of the ingredients in the curry spice mixture and it has also proven to be a good remedy. However, lemons have acid and if you suffer from acid reflux, the cure for one thing sort of causes problems elsewhere. The blood pressure goes down but the stomach acid goes up and heartburn increases. Good HUB!

      I've been using metoprolol for 2 years to get rid of extra heartbeats. After only 2 days of drinking 1 cup of warm lemon water each morning, the heartbeats started decreasing. Now after 3 weeks of drinking lemon water, the extra beats have pretty much stopped altogether. Pretty amazing.

      I found on web that vitamin C & Garlic increased NO which opens up

      blood vessels . Also found too much vitamin C lowers Copper .

      Fenugreek contains loads copper hence put all together and I

      landed here suggest you look at Jewish Cookery .

      im 40yrs. last 3m im taking blood presure medicine (concor5plus and tabuvan 80/12.5mg).

      i have been taking fenugreek for a 10dys with my medicine and my blood pressure has been very low (100/60).

      lasty 2night No medicine at all.

      Hi i have been experiencing high blood pressure and lately ive been tired and i sometimes feel numbness but i heard that lemon juice and honey works and it has worked but i think i need to walk and do something last time my blood pressure was 168/ normal blood pressure please help me btw im a little over weight i think that's the problem too

      i have seen jain big communit in india they use mathio masalo ( chilli powder, fenugreek not hole but crack in small pices,little be penut oil and salt, mix well,you get recipe in net like mathio masalo) they use in breakfast with indian chapati , try it , chill redus bp quickly (my experition) fenygreek redus blood suger and bp . if you do not want salt add little be . i make by my salf with littl salt. one more thing i found you note high bp then take 5 to 7 pices cucumber sprinkl 1/2 spoon red chill powder and take reading after 20 minuts ,your bp going low thanks

      Did not know about he fenugreek will definitely give it a try Right now I am using garlic onion and scallion tea, and some time I add hibiscus and it helps to keep my pressure down, along with daily excercise and juicing

      Lemon juice also helps to make your body alkaline.... even though it is acidic, it metabolizes alkaline in a our body. Cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment.....

      My mom is trying the lemon juice for her BP.
