1. Have Family Night
Whip up some delicious snacks, dust off those board games sitting in the closet, and gather around the table with your entire family for a fun family night! This is a great excuse to unplug. Have everyone leave their phones in another room; Social media can wait for a few hours. Turn on some music and be silly. Engage in a face to face conversation and catch up with everyone. This is the perfect way to bond with your family and enjoy a cold winter evening—a guaranteed fun time that everyone will want to make into a regular event.
2. Go Out with Friends
Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Call some friends and ask them to dinner. Get dressed up and enjoy a night on the town. Go bowling. Take a group fitness class. Go line dancing. Trying something new with your friends is a great way to boost your mood, make memories, and break up that winter time monotony.
3. See a Movie
Escape reality for a couple of hours by going to the cinema to take in the latest film. There is something magical about sitting in a dark room, in front of an oversized screen, and watching a movie. You can easily envision yourself right there, in the midst of the action. Enjoy some snacks and have fun. A day of solitude, take the entire family, or go with friends. 5. Netflix and Chill
If you are not in the mood to go out, staying in is just as good. Put on something comfortable, grab some snacks, plop yourself down on the couch, and binge watch a show, or two on Netflix. When the cold weather is getting you down, sometimes the best thing to do is snuggle up under a blanket and relax. As I have gotten older, I have come to appreciate the ability to simply relax on the couch and enjoy watching TV. It's not something I get to do often, so when I am able to, I enjoy it to the fullest!
6. Plan a Vacation
When the monotony of winter weather is getting to you, look ahead to spring or summer. Plan a vacation. It could be a life changing trip, a fun weekend getaway, a week of exploring your state, whatever strikes your fancy! You can go all out and plan a tropical vacation or a cruise. Not in the budget or just not your style? No problem! Plan something a little closer to home. Plan a visit to one of your state parks, take a weekend at an indoor water park, or plan a camping trip for the summer. The possibilities are endless. Having tasks to complete and a fun trip to look forward to will get your mind off of the gray, dreariness of winter.
7. Make the Most of It.

Get outside and enjoy the weather. Bundle up and go for a brisk winter walk. Go sledding or skiing. Build a snowman. Build an igloo or forts and have a snowball fight.
